CHILDHOOD COLLAGES

These collages were crafted using vintage National Geographic magazines from the 1970s. I aimed to highlight the contrast between the ‘wild’ rural landscapes depicted in the images and the ‘civilized’ cultural perspective, often seen through the eyes of white readers.

In this project, my primary focus was on children, as I sought to underscore the gap between their dreams and the realities they faced.
